red/orange seems to be the color of the week for me. these sunset hues and luxe fabrics really stand out and add dimension against the rough, rocky background. something about this layout also makes me think of a stranded or shipwrecked mermaid... it's probably because of her hair. scratch that, its definitely because of her hair, especially in the sequin bodice photo.

suddenly craving more red/orange for my wardrobe. i give it 12 hours til i'm back to my monochromatic ways.

this basically sums up the three sides of my style: girly, edgy, and (nine times out of ten) very black and white. i love the oversized bow being paired with a stud and zipper ridden leather jacket. and irina lazareanu, with her dark hair and eye-grazing fringe, is the optimal character to pull off this sartorial hybrid.

hannah macgibbon

hannah macgibbon is the new mastermind behind chloe and is bringing it back to where it once was in the glory days of phoebe philo. her scallop edged jackets and high waisted shorts were a huge hit for s/s 09 and her personal style is both laid back and rocker chic. 

I'm totally in love with this outfit she rocked at the milk studios party for chloe: the to-the-knee suede boots with those lipstick red shorts was an amazing pairing and one that i could pull off with stuff i already own.

so today i'm donning my vintage, lipstick red leather skirt with a silk charcoal grey tank and black booties: if it wasn't 90 some degrees out, believe me i'd be wearing my black suede boots. sigh, guess i'll have to wait a little longer to bust out my favorite boots.

its been one of those slow moving weeks, so please excuse my lack of postings: laziness and studying got the best of me but i think i'm back on track now.

i got over the whole "being tan" phenomenon a while ago and photographs like this simply reinforce why i love pale skin: it's clean, appears to be as flawless as porcelain, and rocks a red lip the best of any skin tone. the middle photo of amanda in the taxi is stunning.

for some reason i've insanely obsessed with this photograph that i snagged from SRC783's blog. maybe its the perfect combination of edgy wares, lonely but classic setting, and strategically placed hair, just so you can't actually see the face of said caller... i dunno, i just love it, which is probably why its now my desktop background (officially knocking bruce weber's bed shot of lara, kate, and daria off my macbook home screen).

i have a severe obsession with boots: ever since high school and michael kors' fall 2002 collection with lace up, to-the-knee boots and scrunched cashmere socks, i've been obsessed. my favorite of the genre are either OTK boots or booties; kind of an all-or-nothing mentality with me. so in honor of my love of boots and the truly amazing OTK variety that stomped down the runways this past february, i've complied my top ten favorite OTK boots for this fall; my personal way of getting through july.

just in time for new moon to come out in theaters, US allure has snagged kstew as their november cover girl and if these candids are any indication, the layout is gonna be hella amazing. this rodarte ensemble is basically my dream outfit. those boots: i wouldn't buy dinner for months if it meant i could somehow own those...

right. should probably stop drooling on the keyboard now... my boss probably won't appreciate having my saliva all over her apple.

sidenotes: 

1. these are hardcore making me miss her amazing locks... that joan jett mullet is killing me right now. 

2. how hilarious is it that she's wearing flip flops with said godly boots? i'm guessing the ground conditions (see sand) weren't exactly heel friendly.
