umbrellas and coffee

rainy friday. morning thundershowers are made for days you don't have to get out of bed, not days that you have to open the store. thank god for starbucks.

going out tonight to re-celebrate my birthday since i didn't get much of a candle situation the first time around. also, i'm definitely wearing my new dress... i don't care if its too much for sarasota, i can't wait any longer to give it a true night out.

fun fact: i'm named after madison avenue in new york. while technically my parents came up with the name while watching "splash" (the mermaid movie with tom hanks and daryl hannah) hannah's character names herself after the infamous street in nyc. i see it as validation as to why i'm so obsessed with city life and fashion.

i'm officially back from new york totally exhausted, totally broke and totally needing to move there. while immersing myself in new york culture i got to check out the "model as muse" exhibit at the MET and then proceeded to buy the amazing book with some of the most classically gorgeous fashion photography i've ever seen. the above are some select favorites.

off for my first trip to nyc... excited? understatement. severe understatement.

today i'm: loving all things julia roitfeld, eating chocolate "little bites" frosted mini wheats... new favorite snack food, being a week away from a plane ride to NYC for 6 days, loving razors with massive moisturizing bars, changing lanes constantly, planning for my mom's bday on thursday, counting down the seconds til my brother arrives, needing this in tri-light pink, this in tri-lemon and this in black.

just got back from brunch with mimosas and salmon benedict. then we hit up whole foods for flowers where my mom got white daisies and i got two of my favorite things: peonies and aussie licorice. now off continuing my lazy sunday...

lingerie contessa

i would totally do chores around the house in lingerie if my body looked like this... and if i owed lingerie that looked like this. and  if i had really adorable tiaras and fuzzy bunny ears. 

add to "to-do" list: take bubble bath in fake eyelashes, diamonds and bunny ears. ooh and buy a blue, lace bra.

tied up

with summer quickly approaching in most normal climate areas and it already being in full force here in florida, i'm trying to find any way possible to keep from dealing with my hair. i love my length when its not sticking to the back of my neck so i've decided that braiding it for the next couple months will keep me from impulsively cutting it off or ripping it out.
