this is one of my all time favorite spreads and its from vogue italia's may 2008 issue. whenever these two are paired together the outcome is consistently flawless. whether they're winking and pouting on the cover of i-d or doing laundry with trentini in december 2005's us vogue, its always stunning and quintessentially high fashion.
this particular pairing for vogue italia was so seamless that the mag brought them back that november for what looked like "the now mix'n'match" part two but was actually entitled "cossack style". however, both layouts were shot by the same photographer, emma summerton.
all and all i'd say these two layouts, if nothing else, accomplish the following:
1. i now, really badly, feel the need to rock some seriously oversized, mickey mouse worthy fur earmuffs.
2. red lipstick should always be worn: whether you're lounging in bed or vacuuming pavement.
3. black tights + mid-calf scrunched socks + strappy heeled sandals = amazing.
...now off to find some hot, retro suitcases.
